SPEAK TO FRED
Bringing together independent tech professionals and high-growth startups
Self-employed engineer, data scientist or product designer looking for new clients?Startup in need of experienced, flexible talent (without the cost of a recruiter)?I've got you covered.

INDEPENDENT TECH PROS
How can you help me?
I build close relationships with VC-backed startups to uncover roles for external talent. I speak directly with founders and heads of product/engineering, meaning I often surface opportunities that aren't made public (or before they ever make it to a job board).
We’d be working as a two-person team: I handle outreach and warm intros, promoting you to relevant startups. You lead the client conversations, close the contracts, and deliver the work.Think of me as your business development partner and another channel for high-trust, high-fit opportunities you can take or leave.
So, what's your business model and how do you get paid?
There’s no fee to work with me — we operate on a revenue share basis. For any client we bring in together, I take 15% of the total income you earn from them in the first 12 months. You manage the contract and invoice the client directly. I invoice you for my share, and I'm paid only once you’ve been paid.
How is this different from working with a recruiter?
I get asked this a lot and it’s a fair question. On the surface, it might look similar. But what I do is fundamentally different from recruitment:I don’t represent companies. I represent you.
Recruiters are hired by startups to fill specific roles. I work on your side, helping you find high-trust, relevant opportunities.I don’t take fees from startups. I share revenue with you.
My compensation only comes from the work we generate together. We’re aligned from day one.You own the client relationship.
I make the introduction, but you handle everything from there: scope, pricing, delivery, contract and billing.I don’t just wait for open roles. I surface real needs.
Because I build ongoing relationships with founders and teams, I often uncover opportunities before they’re public (or before they even write a job description).I don’t spray resumes. I make curated, high-signal intros.
When I recommend you, it’s because there’s a clear match, not because I’m ticking boxes or working a quota.
What kind of opportunities can I expect?
Most opportunities are with VC-backed startups between Pre-Seed and Series A, typically based in Europe or the US.The roles vary, but generally fall into two categories:1️⃣ Short-term projects: They have a clear goal, timeline, and scope (e.g. an MVP build, LLM integration, etc.).2️⃣ Longer-term contracts: The startup wants flexible support instead of a permanent hire. These often have the potential to turn into contract-to-perm if things go well.
Can I still find my own work?
Absolutely. You’re free (and encouraged) to find your own work directly. This isn’t exclusive. I’m just one channel in your broader pipeline, here to bring high-quality, high-fit opportunities your way. You’re under no obligation to take on any of the introductions I make.
I'm interested, what happens next?
If you’ve got questions or want to chat through the model first, feel free to reach out by email or LinkedIn.Here’s how things work when you’re ready to move forward:📋 Step 1: Fill out this quick form
This helps me understand your background, interests, and what kinds of opportunities you’re looking for.☎️ Step 2: Intro call
When I’ve got something relevant, I’ll get in touch to book a short call so we can get to know each other properly.📝 Step 3: Sign the partnership agreement
If we're aligned, I’ll send over a simple agreement that sets out how the revenue share works and formalizes our commercial relationship.🔎 Step 4: Quick due diligence
So I'm putting you forward confidently, I usually ask for some references (written feedback, testimonials or former clients/employers I can speak to) and examples of past work to see your contribution.🚀 Step 5: Let’s get to work
From there, I can start sharing details of suitable leads and making warm introductions where there’s a strong fit.
